Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is coaching?

Coaching is the process that can help you achieve a goal by helping you clarify your goals, assess the obstacles, including you, that are keeping you from achieving that goal.

  • Do I need a coach?

If you haven’t figured it out on your own, stop struggling. You are capable of accomplishing anything but it’s not wrong to need additional expertise, support, and resources to help you. There’s no reason to go it alone, especially if you’ve tried many times and don’t feel like you are getting anywhere.

  • Why should I consider coaching?

You’re in serious need of a change but are unsure of what change, why, or how to go about it. Coaching not only helps you achieve your goals, it can be transformative in how you shift your mindset, how you try new actions you never would have considered before, and how you think about your results.

  • How do I know which service is right for me?

Most clients start with the Career Clarity & Direction Intensive.

It provides a focused diagnosis of your situation and a clear recommendation for next steps. From there, we decide—together—whether a longer engagement makes sense.

You are never required to continue beyond the initial work.

  • Do you work with people who are not actively job searching?

Yes. In fact, many clients are not looking to leave immediately.

I regularly work with professionals who are:

    • Deciding whether to stay, pivot, or redesign their role

    • Navigating promotion or leadership inflection points

    • Burned out and evaluating sustainable paths forward

    • Repositioning internally, not externally

This work is about intentional decisions, not default exits.

  • Is this more like career coaching or executive coaching?

It depends on the client and the moment.

My work often sits at the intersection of:

    • Career strategy

    • Leadership development

    • Decision-making and positioning

Rather than separating these artificially, we address what is most relevant to your situation.

  • Do you help with resumes, LinkedIn, or interview prep?

These topics may come up as part of a broader strategy, but they are not the focus of my work.

    I am not a resume-writing or interview-prep service.
I focus on clarity, positioning, and strategy, which then informs how those tools are used—if needed.

  • How structured is the coaching?

The work is both structured and adaptive.

    You can expect:

    • Clear objectives and focus areas

    • Frameworks for thinking and decision-making

    • Honest feedback and challenge

    • Space for reflection paired with forward action

This is not open-ended talk therapy, nor is it rigid step-by-step coaching.

  • How long do clients typically work with you?

It varies. It can be 1 - 6 months or continue with ongoing support.

Some clients complete a single clarity intensive and move forward independently.
Many engage for 3–6 months to support meaningful change or execution.
A smaller group continues in an advisory capacity as their roles or ambitions expand.

We revisit fit and scope as your situation evolves.

  • What if I’m still unsure whether coaching is the right next step?

That hesitation is often a sign you are exactly at a decision point.

The Clarity & Direction Intensive is designed for this moment.
It allows you to think clearly, understand your options, and decide what to do next—with or without continued coaching.

  • How do we get started?

The first step is a Clarity Conversation.

This is a short, focused call to:

    • Understand what you are navigating

    • Confirm mutual fit

    • Determine whether starting with a clarity intensive makes sense

There is no pressure to move forward beyond that conversation.
